Susan, SAA chair
First of all ***Congratulations!*** are in order to our very own chair person Susan Swan who has just been awarded her QHP from England's very own John Frawley. For those that don't know that means she is now a “Qualifying Horary Practitioner” - any questions, you know who to ask! Despite leading a very busy life jet-setting here there and everywhere (when she's not playing football, or fly-foxing over the Clyde) she whizzed her way through John's correspondence course – which we are told is no easy task. Not content with the new feather in her bow she has now just started another course with the lovely Bob Zoller. Watch this woman – she is just back from speaking at the Irish conference, won't be long till she's on the international speaking circuit, with her delightful Mercury in Leo, flying the flag for Scottish Astrology. Very well done Susan, from all at the SAA.
Our programme has now finished for the summer. On Saturday we had a very enjoyable, thought provoking day with Terry Lamb who came to us from sunny San Diego. Terry's topics were “Healing our Core Wound” and “The Astrology of Love Triangles” A big thank you to all those who attended. For those that missed the event, her talks taped successfully and you will be able to order them very soon from Robert.
Next on the agenda will be a committee meeting on the 16th July to organise the Autumn programme. While we are having our summer holiday our room in the Theosophical Society is having a make over, we will return to a nice new wooden floor.
AA Conference in York – Most of us are now all booked up and raring to go to the annual astrology conference, this year in York – a pleasant two and a half hour journey. Its not too late for anyone to join us. Though the early bird price deadline has gone there is still a special deal for booking before the 31st July. Don't forget to ask for your 15% discount if you want to be part of our group. For full details visit the AA of GB web site at http://www.astrologicalassociation.com/ – It has become a bit of a tradition for us all to put away our cares and make the trip to this annual event. Its always a lot of fun, great astrology, lots of books to buy and of course lots of partying! Quite a few people are traveling by car this year but a few of us are going by train. If you are quick there may still be time to book a Super Apex ticket on the train – call 08457 225 225 for the GNER schedule.
Last of all the deadline for the Noel Tyl weekend is coming fast, please make sure your cheques reach us by the 12th of July. We have had quite a bit of interest outside Edinburgh and look forward to welcoming some new faces to the SAA. If you go to one astrological event in the year make sure this is the one! Noel is such a wonderful speaker and teacher, we are honoured to have the chance to host him. Please come along and support this event, you won't be sorry! To find out more about his work visit http://www.noeltyl.com/ where he posts monthly articles and there is a fantastic forum.
For those of you who can't wait till September when the new programme starts, the usual motley crew meet up in the Elm bar through the back on Wednesday nights every week. We are always happy to welcome new interested people, so why don't you come along and join us?
