About Us

SAA founders The Association was founded on the 16th February 1974 at 12.26pm GMT at New Broughton School, Edinburgh. The membership was formed from a nucleus of a class held at the school (photo left), and several experienced astrologers. The object of the Association was to promote and encourage sound astrological practices - i.e. Judicial or Natal, Mundane or Political, Inceptional, Electional, Medical and Horary etc. The Association met fortnightly at premises at North St. Andrew Street, but as there were many steep stairs to climb the venue was moved to Great King Street, where it has remained. Meetings are still held fortnightly but on occasion the 'in-between' Wednesday is brought into use. There are Library facilities for members, and an Annual Conference is held at appropriate times. - Cameron Greig (co-founder)
